Hiya! My name is Maggie and I’m excited to share my passion for all things cookies with all of you! In 2017, I happened to be perusing CorgiThings.com (a great place for all things Corgis!) and came across some Pembroke & Cardigan cookie cutters! Let me level with you, I cannot bake to save my life…never could and still can’t, though I’ve gotten some really tremendous baking cookbooks that I’m going to be brave and dive into soon, BUT I typically just don’t have the patience for baking. HOWEVER, these cookie cutters were too cute not to give it a real go, so I thought, what the heck, and took a chance! I did a lot of research, ordered my equipment and tools, and gave it a good old fashioned try…and actually enjoyed myself, much to my surprise! And the cookies weren’t too bad either. I mean, they definitely were NOT the prettiest, but they weren’t as bad as I thought they were going to be so I tried again, and they turned out better than the first time, so I decided…okay, I think I can make a go of this.
One thing led to another and before I knew it, I was having friends hire me for custom small orders, and after a year of that, Frankie suggested I try selling them on Etsy to see what happened. (While I love Etsy for all things, it is not built to sustain a cookie business, so I promptly left and moved it here, to what was my food blog, but is now fully devoted to my cookie enterprise!) All I can say is I’ve now been in business for over 5 years, selling over 1,000 cookies every year and growing! I’m still in shock at how quickly everything took off (my busiest time being during COVID’s 18-month lockdown at home). In addition to keeping me sane, it’s been a wild ride of technical adventure and just constant motivation to make each set better than the last.
